Terms of Service

What the service does

Digital Trust Monitor periodically checks a customer's domain for website availability, email authentication configuration (SPF/DKIM/DMARC/MTA-STS), spam blacklist status, and basic website security hygiene, and notifies designated contacts by email and/or text message when a result changes.

What it isn't

This is a monitoring and notification tool, not a security guarantee, a managed security service, or a substitute for professional security review. It does not prevent incidents, fix misconfigurations on your behalf, or guarantee detection of every possible issue.

Acceptable use

You may only add a domain to the service that you own or are authorized to monitor. You may not use the service to monitor a domain belonging to someone else without their permission.

Subscription, trial, and auto-renewal

Plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at sign-up. A 14-day free trial is offered to a new account and a new domain the first time either is used; your card is charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first. After the trial (or immediately, if no trial applies), your subscription renews automatically at the then-current price for your plan until you cancel. You can cancel online, from your account settings, at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged again after that. If you cancel during a free trial before it ends, you will not be charged at all.

Refunds

Charges are generally non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@cogitara.net and we'll look into it.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cogitara is not liable for any damages -- direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential -- arising from use of, or inability to use, the service, including a missed or delayed notification, a false positive or false negative in any check, or any downtime, security incident, or business loss that the service did not detect or detected late.

Your responsibilities

You're responsible for keeping your contact information current, for acting on notifications you receive, and for not relying on this service as your sole means of detecting or responding to a security incident.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
